Changes

From Sub-Saharan Africa to South America to Central America (twice), we have finally arrived at Panama. In less than 2 weeks we will begin our Pre-Service training outside of Panama City. It has been quite the adventure already, and we are just getting started.  It is weird to compare what I do on a daily basis here in Fort Collins, CO. to what I will be doing in 2 weeks, 2 months, or even 2 years in Peace Corps. Today I woke up in my comfortable bed, started my day with yoga, walked to the grocery store, and then to volunteer at the safehouse. This day is most likely very far from anything I will be doing in Panama, and yet I couldn't be more excited.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun...adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will first appear to you to be crazy, but once you become accustomed to such a life you will see it's full meaning and it's incredible beauty." -John Krakauer, Into the Wild
I wonder what I'll be doing on May 02, 2012...

See you in Panama,

Lauren
